Dunmow Young Farmers is made up from a really diverse group of 18-26 year olds. We are a great advert for the fact that you don’t have to be a farmer to be a Dunmow Young Farmer. In our club we have teachers, a slaughter man, landscapers, service engineers, car salesman, plant managers and the odd farmer. 2016/17 was a really busy and successful year for Tom Stephens who did a great job and has set a hard act for Ant to follow. Last year we took part in a wide range of activities ranging from tours of SRC Aggregates, Humphries Slaughterhouse, HM Trailers to name but a few. We also took part in all of the competitions that young farmers has to offer with our girls tug of war team getting through to Eastern Area and James Humphries representing Essex in the National Clay Pigeon shooting competition and coming a very respectable third. Dunmow are also renowned for knowing how to let our hair down and enjoy the various parties that Young Farmers offers, we will always be the first on the dance floor enjoying a Jaeger Bomb or two.
Overall Dunmow is a really friendly and inviting club and we hope to see lots of new members joining us this year. We generally meet on Tuesday nights at the Saracens Head in Dunmow but make sure you check out our Facebook page to see exactly where we will be.
